I bought this to replace a similar product from Renogy, which just wasn't standing up to the power going through it (running at 60 to 70 deg C most of the time). This new one from Olys is doing the job without sweating but there are a couple of things which I'm not too happy with. Firstly, the power from the alternator cannot supplement what's coming in from the solar array ...it just shuts of the pv input and runs the alternator as hard as it needs (wants?). Pretty disappointing in this age of green energy, (the Renogy at least could use both at once).
My other misgiving is with the app. It provides the barest minimum of information about the system. No temperatures, no history of various things that other apps for similar devices provide (History gives you max & min battery voltages -for one battery, PV max charge & accumulated charge. That's it.) Main page gives you the same information in a different format -updated live. Again for one battery only. Pretty poor really. I'm hoping to find a more useful app which can connect to this device, but I'm not too hopeful.
Still, a pretty robust unit which does the minimum it needs to do. I am happy to own it.
