Common questions

Before you invest

Which inverter size do I need?+

5kW suits small homes, granny flats and sheds with basic loads (lights, fridge, TV, pumps). 8kW handles a standard 3-bedroom home including occasional high-draw appliances like washing machines and air con. 16kW is for large homes, workshops or small commercial setups where you need to run multiple high-draw appliances simultaneously. If you're unsure, call us — we can size it in 5 minutes based on your electricity bill.

How much battery storage do I actually need?+

A rough guide: the average Australian home uses 15–20kWh per day. 5.12kWh covers a few hours of essential loads overnight. 10.24kWh handles most of an average night. 20.48kWh+ gives you genuine multi-day autonomy or full off-grid capability. If you want to run air conditioning overnight, you'll likely need 15kWh+. We can calculate your exact needs based on your appliance list.

Can this system work completely off-grid?+

Yes — the Deye inverter is a hybrid unit that supports full off-grid operation. With enough battery storage and solar, you can operate with zero grid connection. Many of our customers use these for remote properties, tiny homes and rural sheds with no grid access at all.

Do I need a licensed electrician?+

Yes — Australian regulations require a licensed electrician for any AC connection. The kit arrives with all components matched and ready to install. Your electrician handles the mounting, wiring and commissioning. Most installs take 1–2 days.

Can I expand the system later?+

Yes. You can add more Enerlution wall batteries to increase storage (up to the inverter's limit), and add more solar panels up to the inverter's maximum PV input. Many customers start with a 10kWh battery and add a second unit within 12 months.

What's the warranty?+

Deye inverter: 10-year manufacturer warranty. Enerlution batteries: 10-year warranty. Jinko panels: 12-year product warranty + 25-year performance guarantee. We're an Australian-based supplier (Yatala, QLD) so warranty claims are handled locally, not through an overseas manufacturer.

440W or 475W panels — which should I pick?+

Both are Jinko Tier-1 panels with excellent performance. The 475W panels are physically larger but produce more power per panel — better if you have limited roof mounts (fewer panels = fewer mounts). The 440W panels are slightly smaller and more affordable per panel — better if you have plenty of roof space and want to maximise total kW on a budget. Performance per dollar is very similar.
